The mission of Safe Haven Community Skill Center is to serve as an alternative educational service. We strive to provide training in marketable skills to assist a person to obtain employment or to update their skills. The training component consist of workshops in proposal writing, case management, financial education, faith-base counselor, and non-profit management. In addition to offer to the community workshops that address educational, and community issues.
Safe Haven Achievement 2004 to Present
1. Served over 12,000 participants in grant information workshops
2. Served over 1,000 prograqm participants in skill-base workshops
3. Served over 800 service providers
4. Referred over 500 program participants for technical resources
5. Staff consist of consultants, volounteers, and professional services
6. Newly instituted Fiscal Agent Program
7. Non for profit internship available
8. Grant writing intership available
9. Conducted workshops at 16 sites such as churches, community centers, and schools
10.1st financial literacy conference held at the Chicago Marriott 100 service providers in attendance
11.Illinois State Board of Education's service provider, Juloy, 2008 to present
12 Illinois State Board of Education's vendor
13.Former radio personality of WGCR.US internet radio Sunday 9:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m..
